Nate Silver is an American statistician known for his accurate prediction of the United States election results.
Expecting to make more than $100,000 in 2004, Silver began his new venture by signing on to EmpirePoker.com and putting $1,000 into his account. Silver rose to prominence after creating PECOTA, a system for predicting the performance and career development of Major League Baseball players, which he sold to Baseball Prospectus and then maintained from 2003 to 2009.
After an election forecasting system, he built successfully anticipated the outcomes in 49 of the 50 states in the 2008 U.S.
Presidential election, Silver was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in 2009.
