As companies like Target scale back their diversity and inclusion efforts, Walmart is seemingly support for the LGBTQIA+ community with its 2025 Pride Collection. There is a red zipper on the top for easy access.

Walmart’s Pride collection features rainbow-striped apparel and cheeky accessories. “Walmart stores sell products all year that support different groups, adding that in this particular case, we haven’t changed anything in our assortment,” Watkins shared via WGAC.

“We want everybody to feel comfortable shopping with us, and we want everybody to feel comfortable and excited about working at Walmart.”

On its Instagram page, Walmart used the social media platform a full week ahead of Pride month to let you know that at Walmart, it's "Not just a slogan.

  • LGBTQ+ Walmart brands to shop for Pride Month 2024

    Pride Month, celebrated each year in June, is a time to celebrate inclusivity and support the LGBTQ+ community. “We are willing to change alongside our associates and customers who represent all of America,” a company spokesperson said, per CNN.

     “We’ve been on a journey and know we aren’t perfect, but every decision comes from a place of wanting to foster a sense of belonging.”

    There are even playful pet toys designed to let folks rep their pride loud and proud.

    The LGBTQIA+ community has responded with mixed feelings. Shoppers can also find rainbow-themed pool floats and colorful kitchenware. Starbuck claimed credit for influencing Walmart’s decision, stating he had discussions with company executives about their DEI initiatives.

    Walmart stated that the decision reflects an evolving strategy to foster a “sense of belonging” rather than focusing on DEI terminology.

    While many appreciate Walmart’s visible support through its Pride merchandise, others express concern over the rollback of DEI initiatives. #PrideAlways is a reminder to lead with love." It appears that Walmart will be pushing "Pride" month with inventory online and in-store LGBTQ+ displays.

    By the way, there wasn't a single peep from Walmart's Facebook or Instagram page about Memorial Day throughout the weekend, although they certainly hoped you'd spent a lot of money at their stores to celebrate it.

    So, did Walmart CEO Doug McMillon lie to shareholders and the public last year when he said the company does not "wake up in the morning wanting to go and make social and political statements" in response to a shareholder question?

    And Walmart is no exception — the retailer has an extensive collection of pride merchandise, including items from companies founded by members of the LGBTQ+ community.  

    Some of those companies include Ink Meets Paper, a stationery company founded by wife-and-wife duo Allison and Jamie Nadeau, and Bianca Designs, a line of apparel and accessories created by Queer, Gender-fluid Latine artist Bianca Negrón.

    So as you get ready to show your pride this year, consider shopping Walmart LGBTQ+ brands.

    Buying from brands that support LGBTQ+ individuals is something we should all do more of whether it's Pride Month or not.

    During Memorial Day weekend, while most businesses were recognizing the ultimate sacrifice by those who gave their lives for freedom, Walmart took the occasion to promote and celebrate an early start to Pride month.

    This past Saturday, Walmart presented two homosexuals, Jesus and Sergio, marketing the company's latest line of LGBTQ+ clothing.

    Walmart’s webpage is carrying rotator ads, one of which promotes "Gay Pride." And if you search the word "pride" on Walmart.com, you'll get more than 1,000 items, including one t-shirt that tells you, "Some people are gay.

    It's black, and on the side, has a fun play on the days of the week — with a Pride Month twist.

    1. Sign the petition to Walmart, asking the company to pull its online promotion of LGBTQ+ merchandise.
    2. Call your local Walmart and tell the manager that "gay" displays in your store violate you community’s standards and urge him/her to not allow them.

      It would seem so.

      As proof, Chief Merchandising Officer Latriece Watkins said in 2023 that the company had no plans to change its LGBTQ+ merchandise. The “Pride Always” line is bursting with bold, affirming pieces designed to celebrate love, identity, and self-expression.
