Michael Bronski, a Harvard University professor and author of "A Queer History of the United States for Young People," says history plays a role here.

Meanwhile, some lawmakers, mostly conservatives, were quick to issue critical statements. Capitol Police are investigating an incident involving a sex tape filmed in the Senate Judicial Committee Hearing Room by a junior legislative aide to Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD). Monica Lewinsky has talked extensively in recent years about how the never-ending gossip about her sex life, including the details shared and language used, impacted her.

According to reports by conservative journalist Laura Loomer, the staffer reserved the room under Senator Cardin’s name. His face appeared to be clearly visible, according to The Spectator, which first broke the story Friday.

The roughly eight seconds of intercourse allegedly took place in the same room where nominees to the Supreme Court are grilled by senators and where former FBI boss James Comey once testified about alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Graphic video of the moment was published by The Daily Caller Friday evening. 

The United States Capitol Police launched a probe into potential criminal violations after the video began circulating.

Maese-Czeropski previously was featured in an ad for President Biden — earning a shoutout from his mother’s now deleted X account.

“Thank you for including my son, Aidan Maese-Czeropski, in your thoughtful message to everyone who has supported you,” the staffer’s mother said in a November 2020 post.

The romp occurred between the seating locations of Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota) and Chris Coons(D-Delaware), according to Politico.

The staffer is no longer a Senate employee, Sen.

Cardin confirmed though he did not explicitly state if the man was fired or not initially.

Capitol Police are continuing to investigate the incident and could not say if there was any security camera footage recorded that evening.

The second individual engaged in sexual intercourse in the sex video filmed in the Senate hearing room is alleged to be a Georg Gauger, a German national studying at nearby Elliot School of International Affairs.
